Ivan Wright: Embracing Change and Opportunity

In this Welder Profile, we will look at the compelling journey of the episode’s guest, Ivan Wright, who is currently a weld technician at Fronius Canada, where he has been for the past six years.

Wright’s journey begins in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he was born and spent his school years. He lived in Beechville, a suburb of Halifax, and a historically Black Nova Scotian settlement community, established in 1813. Wright recalls that the community, while not especially diverse, still offered some familiarity.

Growing up, Wright was surrounded by people working in the trades, including his stepfather, a carpenter. With that exposure, he realized he enjoyed working with his hands and had a curious nature—always eager to understand how things worked.
