The NDT AI Complexity Paradox

I had the privilege of attending two outstanding conferences this spring: the NDT in Canada Conference in Whistler and the European Conference on Non-Destructive Testing (ECNDT) in Verona. While separated by an ocean, they had one thing very much in common. Artificial intelligence dominated the conversation. Every technical stream seemed to feature AI, machine learning, computer vision, robotics or digital technologies. If conference agendas are any indication, AI has officially graduated from "emerging technology" to "every second presentation."
