CSA Group has a mandate that every 5 years a standard be reviewed and updated or re-authorized by the technical committee responsible for that standard. The 7th edition of CSA W117.2 Safety in Welding Cutting and Allied Processes was published in 2019 and reaffirmed in 2023 as work on the next edition continued. At the time of this writing, the 8th edition; CSA W117.2-25 Safety in Welding Cutting and Allied Processes, is scheduled for publication May 2025.
