Radiography Level 3

Course Overview

Candidates for Level 3 NDT certification require a broad range of knowledge to enable the requirements and responsibilities of Paragraph 6.3 as per CAN/CGSB-48.9712-2014 to be fulfilled.

This 6-day (48 hour) course will help to provide the participant with the knowledge and confidence to assume the responsibilities of Radiography Level 3 personnel.

The comprehensive material provided, consisting of a training manual, study guides, and the CAN/CGSB-48.9712-2014 document, will remain the property of the participant. Daily tests and evening assignments will allow the participant and instructor to monitor continuing progress in preparation for the final closed book examination, to be conducted on the final afternoon of the course.

A minimum passing grade of 70% in the basic and method examination parts is required, along with full attendance.

Upon successful completion, the participant will receive a certificate and an examination transcript.

Prerequisites:

  1. Current CGSB Level 2 Radiography certificate.
  2. Minimum industrial experience of 36 months in the radiography method. This may be reduced to 18 months if the participant has successfully completed a technical school or at least 2 years of engineering or science study at an accredited college or university.
  3. Participants must submit their applications to NRCan prior to commencement of the training course.
