Student Welder of Ottawa Gatineau Region Award
In the Ottawa–Gatineau region, welding plays a vital role in building and supporting the industries that keep our communities moving forward. The Student Welder of Ottawa Gatineau Region Award was created to recognize and celebrate the next generation of welders in our local community who are stepping up with skill, determination, and pride in this trade. This award highlights two individuals who are not only developing strong technical abilities, but who are also contributing to the future of this industry through their passion, work ethic, and commitment to continuous growth. By shining a spotlight on emerging talent across Ottawa, Gatineau and surrounding municipalities. In partnership with the CWB Foundation, the CWB Association Ottawa Gatineau Chapter is proud to celebrate students who will carry this industry forward and keep the arc burning strong for generations to come.
Official Rules and Regulations
Application Period
The applications for the Student Welder of Ottawa Gatineau Region Award open on June 12th, 2026, and closes on September 4th, 2026. Celebrating the skill, dedication, and impact of welders across the Ottawa, Gatineau and surrounding municipalities. The CWB Association Ottawa Gatineau Chapter and CWB Foundation proudly presents and sponsors this award.
Eligibility
This award is available to:
- Active CWB Association members located in the Ottawa Gatineau region.
- Individuals 16 years of age or older.
- Nominations submitted by students, coworkers, educators, or parents for students that are currently or recently graduated (within 2years) in Secondary, Post-Secondary or currently in Apprenticeship.
- All participants must be legal residents of the Ottawa Valley, Gatineau region or surrounding municipalities.
How to Enter
To be considered, entrants must:
- Complete the Official Digital Entry Form
- Submit all required materials, including supporting photos
- Only one (1) entry per eligible participant will be accepted
- You may nominate yourself or ensure the nominee is aware of your submission
By submitting a nomination form, you agree to the use of their name, image, and submitted content for promotional, editorial, and other purposes across CWB platforms.
Entry Requirements and Standards
All submissions must:
- Be the original work of the entrant
- Be accurate and verifiable

Contact Reference
- For Secondary, Post-Secondary a faculty member or teacher. For apprentices training coordinator or employer.
- Reflect the professionalism and integrity of the welding trade
- Entries must not contain content that is offensive, defamatory, or in violation of any third-party rights.
The CWB Association Ottawa Gatineau Chapter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet these standards
Award Recipients
- Two recipients will be selected
- Each recipient will receive a $500 award
- Recipients will be spotlighted through a featured video and profile across CWB digital channels, showcasing their achievements and contributions
- Award recipients will be required to present valid identification when attending the event to receive their award.
Award Timeline
- Application Launch: June 12th, 2026
- Submission Deadline: September 4th, 2026
- Two Award Recipients Announced: November/December 2026
General Conditions
By participating, entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and accept all decisions made by the CWB Association Ottawa Gatineau Chapter.
