High Deposition Subarc Through Resistive Heating
In this presentation, Jeremy Lake of ITW Welding North America examines how resistive wire heating technology, known as "Hot Wire" Submerged Arc Welding, can significantly increase deposition rates while reducing overall heat input. Attendees will gain an understanding of traditional submerged arc welding, the differences between solid and metal-cored wire, the principles behind the Hercules preheated-wire system, and the impact of travel speed, deposition rate, and heat input on weld quality and production efficiency.
