Course Overview

Welding is a key activity in the heavy industry fabrication, the construction of and maintenance of an industry complex. Project managers, engineers and field technologists should have a good grasp of the elements affecting the implementation of welding activities so the activities can be planned with a high confidence of success and the completion be cost effective.

This online course provides fundamentals of welding with the following topics:

  2. Wire Fed Processes
  3. Shielded Metal Arc Welding
  4. Joint Design, Weld Types and Positions
  5. Weld Quality and Discontinuities
  6. Metallurgy
  7. Plasma Arc Cutting

The course includes access to digital copies of the Welding for Non-Technical Presentation and our Welding Symbols Poster. Upon registration you will receive a separate email from CWB Learning Resources with your login information. You will have access to the course and content for 90 days. Upon successful completion of the course lessons and quizzes (70% passing mark), the participant can download a Certificate of Completion.

Class Cancellation Policy
The course cost, less a 25% enrollment charge per person, will be refunded if cancellation is made in writing no less than 5 working days before the course. There will be no refund for cancellation after that date. The CWB has the right to cancel the program 10 working days prior to the date of the course. Full refunds will be made to registered participants if the CWB cancels the program. Participants are eligible for one course transfer as long as notice is given no less than 5 working days before the original course date.
