Drawing Interpretation, Joint Design, Metal Preparation and Symbols for Welding - Preview

This is a preview of the Drawing Interpretation, Joint Design, Metal Preparation and Symbols for Welding course.

The full course provides an overview of engineering drawing and reading blueprint. You will develop an understanding of the basic joints and weld types used for welded connections, become familiar with welding terminology, cutting and preparation of joints, as well as with the various methods used by fabricators and manufacturers.

Welding Health and Safety

This course is designed for Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) members, Managers, Shop Supervisors, and welders who want to increase their knowledge and compliance of welding health and safety codes, standards and best practices. Focusing on creating safer work environments and driving compliance with local occupational health and safety codes (OHS), this course reviews welding health and safety regulations, including those in CSA Standard W117.2 “Safety in Welding, Cutting and Allied Processes”. It also provides an understanding of welding safety requirements as outlined in the appropriate provincial Occupational Health and Safety Codes.
