CWB Group Expands NDT Certification Program with Launch of Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Certification
New certification offering strengthens CWB Group’s leadership in non-destructive testing (NDT) and supports Canada’s highest standards in inspection and safety.
The CWB Group is pleased to announce the launch of Ultrasonic Testing (UT) certification under the CGSB Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Personnel Certification program (CAN/CGSB-48.9712-2022).
With UT certification now available at Levels 1, 2, and 3, inspectors across Canada can validate their expertise in one of the industry’s most vital methods for ensuring the integrity of engineering materials, components, and welded structures.
CWB NDT Certification provides:
- Recognized Excellence: Third-party certification widely acknowledged by employers, regulators, and professional peers.
- Support Every Step: Resources, technical support, and clear guidance
- through every phase of certification.
- Fast Results: Fast results through our efficient application process. Accelerate your path to the future
UT certification joins CWB’s existing portfolio of initial certification, recertification and renewal of CGSB NDT methods, which include Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and soon-to-be-added Eddy Current (ET) and Radiographic Testing (RT).
“The addition of Ultrasonic Testing certification reflects our commitment to supporting Canada’s growing need for highly skilled NDT professionals,” said Patrick Ho, Director, NDT Certification. “This expansion strengthens industry confidence, reduces risk, and creates clear pathways for inspectors to grow their careers under Canadian standards.”
To become certified, candidates must have completed CAN/CGSB-48.9712-specific training (ie. from a CWB Recognized Training Organization (RTO)) in the past 10 years, meet vision and experience requirements, and pass both written and practical examinations at an Authorized Examination Centre (AEC).
