Presented At:
CanWeld Conference 2017

Poor indoor air quality (IAQ) is more than a regulatory risk— it’s also a drag on productivity, retention, recruiting, and the bottom line. But how clean is clean enough? Meeting minimum regulatory requirements may not be enough. Poor IAQ can impact employee health and productivity even when regulatory requirements are met. Selecting the right mitigation strategy requires balancing regulatory requirements, worker health and productivity concerns, energy costs, system costs and ongoing maintenance requirements. The presenter will cover the basics of air quality evaluation, mitigation and monitoring.
• the sources indoor air quality problems at metalworking and fabricating plants

• human health risks of weld fumes and metalworking dusts

• “hidden” effects on productivity, retention, recruiting

• updates on Canadian indoor air quality regulations for weld fumes

• air quality evaluation and monitoring strategies

• strategies for long-term management of indoor air quality, including source capture and ambient options
