Repair of out of tolerance or damaged metals during use is mostly achieved through welding techniques. However, parts with special geometries are repaired with special welding techniques. Most common welding techniques have a power input that is so high that it changes the properties of the more fragile parts, which in turn leads to erosion and secondary damage to the part.
