CWB GROUP: CanWeld 2020 Cancelled Due to COVID-19

April 7, 2020

Every year, we look forward to hosting the best in the industry at the CanWeld Conference. This year was no different for the CWB Group, and preparations were underway for months to host another successful conference. However, with the continuing threat of COVID-19, we have had to make some difficult decisions. One such decision is to postpone the annual CanWeld Conference in June until further notice.

CanWeld has been synonymous with the CWB Group and has been well-received by the industry for many years now, but the health and safety of our partners, employees, participants and events staff is of paramount importance. Although we worked diligently to identify alternative options for our participants, the volatility of the current situation has prevented us from doing so, and we are now working towards hosting an alternate event in the Spring of 2021.

Please see below for an official statement from Bill Gwynne, Vice-President of Industry Solutions, that is being shared with all stakeholders, partners and associates:

“It is with great disappointment that I announce the postponement of CanWeld 2020 being held at Fabtech Canada in Toronto. As our reputed partners at Fabtech Canada announced last week, we looked for ways to host this event in 2020 but felt that we couldn’t do justice to our partners, exhibitors and participants, but we are committed to a bigger, better and safer event next year.

The CWB Group would like to show its appreciation to everyone that is working tirelessly to keep our communities safe and healthy during a stressful and challenging time. At a time where physical distance separates us all, the strength and kindness of our communities is more evident than ever before.”

Our head office location hours remain the same, and we invite you to contact us with any questions or concerns. We would like to thank you for your support during this challenging period, and we will continue to update you through our website https://www.cwbgroup.org/update-concerning-covid-19 about the situation at hand.

Stay safe and stay healthy.
