Module 22 - Welding Metallurgy of Stainless Steels

Most stainless steels are readily welded, but only if the correct consumable and procedure are used. The special properties of stainless steel allow it to be used in a wide variety of aggressive environments. The incorrect welding of this material can lead to rapid corrosion and potentially early failure. This module will provide the user with the information necessary to make sound welding decisions relating to stainless steel fabrication.
