Module 12 - Mechanical Testing of Welds

The reader will review and understand the basic principles of destructive testing of welds. This module reviews the methods of testing and the information obtained from Tension Testing, Guided Bend Tests, Nick-Break Testing, Hardness Testing Toughness Testing including Charpy Impact Tests, and Drop Weight Tests. After this review the reader will have a working understanding of the principles of mechanical testing used to evaluate weld quality.
