Event Roundup: The CWB Group rounds up its first Welding Industry Day of 2021

February 17, 2021

The CWB Group hosted its first virtual Welding Industry Day of 2021 on February 9th. With a list of renowned welding industry professionals to choose from, there was something for every participant to enjoy. Max Ceron, Director of the CWB Association, kicked off the event with opening remarks followed by Stacey Bundell of 3M talking about revolutionizing the industry’s safety products from their first auto-darkening welding helmet to 3M’s current state-of-the-art offerings. Later in the day, we had Rob Ritchot of Lincoln Electric discuss the need for exploring innovative options in welding shops to reduce fume exposure for workers. The presentations were rounded up by our very own Max Ceron, sharing his knowledge of carbon changes and their various effects on iron and other ferrous metals.

Our first WID of the year was an exciting one, and participants left with a wide breadth of knowledge and updates on the current state of the welding industry. The presentations were followed by a virtual expo pavilion allowing suppliers to showcase their products and services with a platform for attendees to ask questions. With COVID-19 continuing to keep us physically apart, events such as this allow the welding sector to engage and communicate with each other in a safe and interactive space. We hope that all attendees and presenters enjoyed another Welding Industry Day, and we’re excited to see you at the next one!
