Communication Specialist - CWB Welding Foundation (12 month contract)


The CWB Welding Foundation is seeking a creative and motivated Communications Specialist who will advance the vision and mission of the Foundation through creative and effective communications developed for and specifically targeting key internal and external stakeholders across all media platforms. This position will work directly with the Fundraising and outreach team as well as co-investors, Foundation leadership and CWB Group Marketing and Communications business partners.

This position is based out of the Milton office and will report directly to the Executive Director, CWB Welding Foundation. This will be a contract for 12 months.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creation and implementation of strategic communications that attract national interest
  • Management, implementation and monitoring of donor stewardship and recognition communications including plans, print and social media, and other promotional strategies
  • Schedule and coordinate across partner communication teams


  • University degree Marketing, Communications, Journalism or relevant field or a combination of education and experience;
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of Communications and or public relations, with some exposure to not-for-profit
  • Extraordinarily creative and innovative mind coupled with a highly effective communication style and persuasive abilities
  • Demonstrated writing at a high level
  • Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communication plans, campaigns, projects and initiatives
  • Experience creating campaigns and messaging for social media platforms;
  • Ability to work independently and on various tasks simultaneously;
  • Knowledge of Canadian news media publications will be considered an asset;
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing tasks of others and to work with others on a job to achieve the best results;
  • Must be highly motivated, self-directed and able to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills. Flexibility with changing priorities, and the ability to remain focused on meeting targeted timelines;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point;
  • Ability to use the Adobe suite of products, especially InDesign and Photoshop, to edit collateral materials when needed is considered an asset;
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle;
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
